These days, there’s no doubt that prescription glasses are totally cool. Exhibit A: Justin Bieber. (Oh, OK, his aren’t prescription. But the fact that the kid likes geek chic enough to fake it says something, right?)

Still, it’s always possible to make something cool even cooler. And that’s exactly what Converse did with its new glow-in-the-dark Flutter frames.

Made for kids 5 to 15, these are a sophisticated version of glow-in-the-dark. During the daylight hours–while the frames are soaking in all of the sunlight and getting ready for their big glow–the frames look cool, like pink ice. Then, once they’re in the dark, they light up.

The frames are made for kids with glasses prescriptions, so they’re available only at fine optical shops everywhere–but you could have them made into sunglasses, too.

The only thing is, think about the practicality of them before you buy. For instance, you might not want your kiddo to wear them in the movie theater. –Lexi
