I’ve got no beef with fairy tales and nursery rhymes characters–on the bookshelf. But in the dresser? Not so much my style.
Fortunately, Hollywood mom and designer Tracy Bobbitt has more imagination than I do. In her wonderful world of Crib Rock Couture, classic kids characters are reimagined as rock stars on the road. The Baa Baa Black Sheep pay homage to ACDC; The Queen of Tarts reminds you not to phunk with her tart; a trio of visually impared rodents hit the road on the Carving Knife Tour; and Mary is seen jamming with that great rap legend, Lil’ L.A.M.B. (This sheep is Bananas!)
And now, the shop offers two brand new onesies for the tiniest of touring tots: Sugar & Spice (shown here) and Snips & Snails. The designs are printed on soft pima cotton shirts that fit boys up to 6x and girls into their tweens. I am coveting every one of them for my kid’s wardrobe. My only fear is that they will inspire her to start sleeping past noon and demanding only green M-n-Ms. –Liz
