As I’ve learned rather quickly–too quickly–the artwork you buy for your baby’s nursery might seem…well, babyish in a very short matter of time. Those sweet little Peter Rabbit prints that made you teary when your boy was just a babe in arms aren’t cutting it now that he’s three and answers to the name Mr. Destructo.
Browsing the selection of art at Lollipop Kisses, you’ll find tons of wonderful pieces that suit kids for many years. They’re all made by Oopsy Daisy, a fantastic San Diego-based mom and pop company that licenses high quality original kids art and reprints it exquisitely onto hand-stretched canvases. No need for glass or matting. It even wipes clean.
I love the license plate map from Aaron Foster (shown here), which is at the high end of the spectrum at $320. But there are other more reasonable options like Jill McDonald’s Counting Planets ($139), or Donna Ingemanson’s athlete series (girls included) at just $85 each.
And if you just can’t resist, well yes, there are the requisite cows and sheep and fairies there too. –Liz
