I am so not the matchy-matchy type, and anyone who’s ever seen me pushing a red stroller with a purple blanket and a floral orange diaper bag will nod vigorously in agreement. But if you’re the type who would like to stylistically streamline your stroller accessories (say that five times fast) you need to get on the Bourbon.
Hedvig Bourbon is a Brooklyn-based mom and designer by way of Norway, and besides having the coolest name ever, she’s got a fairly new line of diaper bags and clever stroller accessories that local trendanistas have been snapping up.
Hedvig’s flagship item is the Lucas tote–gotta go with the dark denim which can take you easily from one season to the next. It’s slouchy but still structured, with funky contrast fabric accents and all the pockets you need. This is one diaper bag that really, really doesn’t look like one. Scout’s honor. The line also includes sleek diaper pouch and clutch, but I’m most impressed with the stroller liner (again, loving the denim). It’s a smart and stylish solution to the cracker crumbs in stroller crevices conundrum.
These are not cheap products (seriously, fall in love with them first before you check the prices) but they’re not going to fall apart in a week either. Hedvig tests them all for the rigors of NYC use. And you know what they say about NYC diaper bags: If they can make it there, they’ll make it anywhere. –Liz
