I’ve never been the Grace Kelly type, although I certainly admired her style. I just couldn’t pull off a pearl choker over a cashmere twin set without looking like I was in a costume. But boy do I like pearls.
So I’m very excited by what I’m seeing from Brooklyn jewelry designer Jennie Yin at her shop, My Little Store. She makes excellent use of rice or freshwater pearls along with materials like oxidized silver and vintage glass beads to create striking pieces like the flower box pendant (shown here) or her boxy seedling ring. I love that they’re both delicate and substantial at once.
I also love that every piece is made to order. Isn’t that just how Grace Kelly would have shopped? – Liz
