I first met Beth Miles, the designer behind San Francisco’s Ses Petites Mains label earlier in the year at a trade show, and instantly fell in love. Not with Beth per se–although she is cute–but with her absolutely inspired kids clothes.
Ses Petites Mains updates classics with inventive, playful details and beyond yummy fabrics. But despite the high-fashion sensibility, they’re totally wearable. As all kids clothes should be. You’ll find a great selection at Orange Button, including plaid skirts and apron dresses, along with a feminine striped boatneck top that’s one of the best values of the line at $38. But I think it’s the Coco Jacket (shown here) in a delicious pomegranate velveteen cord that I really want for my daughter this season. The details are just amazing, including a hood that falls beautifully down the back when not keeping the leaves out of their hair.
Admittedly the jacket will fall into the Special Occasion Clothes category for most moms. I say button that kid of yours up in it and make every day a special occasion. Life’s too short to live in windbreakers. –Liz
