Eleven Boys Spring 2009If you need another reason to be happy it’s spring, just check out
Eleven’s new Spring line of kids’ shoes. A sort of “big sister/big
brother” to our fave See Kai Run, Eleven offers children’s shoes in bigger-kid sizes 9 to 3. I’ve gushed about Eleven’s footwear before — I
love the combination of cool kid-appropriate fashion with
run-and-jump rubber bottoms.

Take the boys’ Caper shoe, in olive-and-gray suede nubuck colors that will look great
on my son when he’s dressed up for Easter but will also be at home on
the dusty playground. Plus — bonus! — the sturdy velcro close makes them
easy enough for my 4-year-old to put on himself. My daughter is eyeing
the shiny Astrid mary-janes, with their silver-and-white colors and a closed toe. Knowing her, in a couple of months she’ll just pull these comfy shoes on over her bare feet.

I also cannot wait to grab a few pairs of their kids’ sandals, which look
sturdy for a mad dash through the park, but will let my kids’
feet breathe as the weather heats up. Yes, I said “weather heats
up”– it’s going to happen. Pinky swear. –Christina
