My kids wear the same clothes over and over; they just grab whatever is at the top of the laundry pile and put it on and go. I used to try to encourage them to rotate what they wore but then I realized that the trick was to buy super cool, really well-made pieces that I wouldn’t mind seeing over and over and would hold up through all that wearing.

Where do you find those super cool, really well-made kids clothes? The brand new Magpie Lovely.

This bright, cheerful site is chock full of beautiful pieces for moms and tots, all made by independent artisans and crafters. And while the products themselves are all beautiful, the photographs at Magpie Lovely are truly stunning; each item is displayed as though it were a work of art — which, of course, it is.

Check out the kids’ clothes for starters — like fun A-line dresses for girls by Mette and super cute hand-dyed Pirate appliqued underwear for boys from Small Threads. I also really love the choices for moms; the ruffled tees and tank tops by designer Dyanahar are entirely wearable, even for a mom who typically defaults to jeans for every day. The site also carries a small selection of home accents and  original art, as well as bath and body products including handmade organic Sydney Hale lip balm which I’m dying to try.

Throw a little something for yourself into your virtual shopping cart, with the pirate skivvies. You’ll be glad you did. -Susan
