The lovely site has a modern, clean, online farmer’s market feel, with items like small-batch beauty products, gorgeous handmade baby blankets, organic olive oils and vinaigrettes, and some pretty letterpress calendars. You know, the kinds of things you just love browsing, trying out, and hoping that you’ve discovered something fabulous and new.
Savvy shoppers will also be glad to see that items are sorted by price as well, and there are currently close to 90 items under 10 bucks. But what’s particularly cool to me is that the sellers have a bit of space to tell you more about themselves. Without it, who would have known that the lovely Year in the Country Goat’s Milk Soap collection (fabulous holiday gift idea) is made by Beekman 1802, a company run by an two big city execs who fled for the country, became farmers, raised goats, and pursued their dreams.
Actually, I hope Abe’s Market helps all these small vendors fulfill their dreams. –Liz
