serena and lily crib beddingI just found out we’re expecting a boy who’ll be sharing a room with our
3-year-old daughter, who will be 3 years old, so I need to buy bedding for both of
them. Any suggestions on
where to find bedding that will look great in a boy baby/girl
preschooler shared bedroom? -Katie

Congrats Katie! We didn’t plan as well as you have and now my two-year-old son currently sleeps in a bright pink room with his older sister.

Thankfully, it’s easier than it ever has been to find gender-neutral
bedding. You’ll find a bunch of lovely (and I mean lovely) though
pricey designs at Serena & Lily in both nursery and twin sizes and many of which complement each other without being too “matchy matchy.”

You can also custom design your own bedding at family-owned Javis Davis. Perhaps you could pick a neutral base, and then add more gender-specific accents for each kiddo.

If you’re on a tighter budget, I’ve scored some great gender-neutral options at Pottery Barn Kids, and for less, at Ikea. Ikea hasn’t traditionally had textiles that are as high quality as some of their furniture, but we’ve seen a lot of improvements in recent years and you sure can’t beat the prices.  -Kristen
