Slacker Radio logoSo what’s a slacker mom like me to do when she’s having a Christmas party for sixty of her closest friends and her entire selection of Christmas music was wiped off the hard drive in the Great Computer Crash of Summer, 2009′? I don’t know about you, but Slacker.com sounds right up my alley.

Slacker is an amazing, very customizable internet radio station where I can get all kinds of holiday music–and lots of other music, too. But somehow just the holiday ones disappeared from my computer,  and yes, I often wonder if maybe my grinchy husband had something to do with it.

Customize stations to include songs you love and exclude songs you wouldn’t wish on that one uncle who always gave you socks for Christmas as a kid. You’ll find everything from alternative to big band, classical to comedy. Or if you’re a true slacker, just tune into the existing stations and let them stream for hours on end from a computer or an MP3 player.

Um… and did I mention it’s free? Terrific.

You can, of course, pay to upgrade to Slacker Radio Plus for $4.99 a month for the privilege of skipping ads and all the songs you don’t like, plus access to written lyrics and a few more nifty features, too. I only wish it were all available in Canada where I live. (Hint.) –Stephanie
