This past fall I got a look at some of the new spring kids fashions on the runway, courtesy of our friends at Vogue Bambini. The theme was Garden Style, so there were plenty of flower baskets, clogs, and fun florals – just the thing to get you excited for spring if you’re in snowpocalypse mode these days.

Vogue Bambini Runway spring '10

Now that the spring clothes are juuuuust starting to make their way into shops, it seemed like a good time to point out some of my favorite looks from the show.

Vogue Bambini Runway Bonnie Young '10

I met designer Bonnie Young
last year and her couture kids line just blew me away – more
avant-guard than pageant for sure. The girls’ tunic see at the show is
flowy and gauzy and exquisite. And surely expensive. Find her designs
in high-end emporiums like Harvey Nichols or online at Couture Lab.

Vogue Bambini Runway Mikihouse spring '10

Japanese label Miki House
scored with their designer play clothes. Check out the embellishments
on the denim, and a swingy shape to the girls tees that up the style
quotient. I also love the capri length on pants for toddlers. Forest and Zoe always has a great selection of Miki House there. And psst, check out the rain boots. Cute!

Vogue Bambini Runway Diesel Spring '10

Diesel
always features an edgier kids collection, so it was interesting to see
how they interpreted Garden Style–showing a shiny bomber jacket with
splashes of bright green, and violet accents.

Vogue Bambini Runway Zutano Spring '10

Zutano
is always about mix-and-match layered styles that work together almost
no matter what. I love the little girls’ french terry jacket, whose
structured styling betrays the super soft fabric. Find it at Chulamama. I also like the Mandarin Ribstop Shorts a lot on boys, which I’m sure will be available at Oliebollen soon.

After all, who couldn’t use a whole lot more bright orange in their life these days? –Liz
