I’m so sorry, old buckle carrier, but we’re breaking up. I met someone new.
My new love is the Oh Snap! by BabyHawk, and I’m trying to find out if it’s legal to marry your baby carrier. I’m a monogamous sort of girl, and even though I have two bags of slings for the local babywearing meeting I lead, I always reach for my favorite buckle carrier. And now that’s the Oh Snap!
How do I love it? Let me count the ways.
First of all, the Oh Snap! carrier is gorgeous, made with high-quality materials and triple stitching. There are thousands of choose-your-own permutations of strap color (16 choices) and fabric choices (over 300) on the BabyHawk site, with possibilities from sweet to mod to punk. If you’re the indecisive type, don’t worry. You can also purchase an in-stock carrier designed by a pro.
But looks aren’t everything, and the Oh Snap! delivers in safety, ease, and comfort. It’s recommended for carrying kids from 15 to 45 pounds, and I can attest that the foamcore waist band and well-padded straps excel at supporting my 25 pound butterball. Remove the chest clip and cross the straps to wear it in front, add the clips for a back carrier.
And did I mention it fits everyone from size 0 to 22? That’s you, your husband, the teen babysitter, or Herman Munster.
I know, I know. We’re still in the infatuation stage. But I have a feeling that our love will stand the test of time. At least, until my baby refuses to be carried. Sniffle. –Delilah
