Perfect Moms Finish Last websiteFaster than a speeding toddler. More powerful than loaded diaper. Able to leap from playdate to playdate in a single bound. It’s Perfect Mom! Yep, that was going to be me. I was going to achieve the perfect work/life balance as a working mom, and when I became a stay-at-home mom I was going to be perfect at that. And I failed miserably, or so I thought. Then I realized, when it comes to motherhood, there’s no such thing as perfection.

Life coach and mother of two, Carley Knobloch, started Perfect Moms Finish Last to help moms deal with the issues that have tortured, troubled and confounded them for decades. How to pursue your dreams without feeling selfish? How to raise children who are as proud of you as you are of them? In fact, her online interview series with fascinating moms — one of which features Cool Mom Picks’ very own editor Liz Gumbinner–truly inspired me to let go of the guilt and go with my gut, even when popular parenting practices say differently.

So I was really excited when I got an email about Carley’s latest endeavor, The Perfect Mom’s Finish Last 6 week course. These live tele-classes cover topics ranging from how to deal with PMD (Perfect Mom Disorder), avoiding “mompetition” (and who of us hasn’t dealt with that), and learning how to be productive, rather than just busy.

It’s like an amazing continuing ed class at the local Y, only you can do it at home in your pjs.

The course costs $325 and registration closes March 5th, so sign up ASAP, because spaces are limited. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve spent just as much signing my son up for “child-enhancement” classes (Francais por les bebes?) when he was younger. Clearly that money would have been better spent on Carley’s classes. -Betsy
