Nutitritious snacks for kids - blueberry freezer popsWe’re all trying to eat better, right? And preparing fresh, healthy food for our families is no problem at all, what with our busy lives, children’s picky palates, and our own dietary restrictions as we head into swimsuit season (ahem). Yeah.

Here comes chef Jennifer Iserloh, a.k.a. The Skinny Chef, to the rescue. This media maven is something of an everycook–not only does her site boast an impressive category of kid-friendly recipes that are as delicious as they are nutritious, she makes it all palatable for the entire family. Read: She offers up a wine pairing for that Butternut Squash Risotto, because it should be a yummy meal for the parents, too.

There’s entrees, side dishes, even sneaky desserts like these gorgeous blueberry pops, which are hiding some spinach puree for extra nutritional oomph. It’s not all sneaky-food-ville, though; her chicken enchilada recipe, for example, is a pretty straightforward take on an old favorite, merely swapping in multigrain tortillas for corn.

These are real recipes for real people, with real yum. Bookmarked. -Mir
