Bronzing baby shoes is so 1900’s. The real keepsake is that little plastic doohicky (or twelve) that you peed on and then stared at for ten minutes with your jaw on the floor. Sure, the plus sign or smiley face or digital proclamation of PREGNANT faded long ago. But the memories you made in that bathroom live on forever.
So you will not believe what e.p.t. is doing about it.
Right now, e.p.t is actually institutionalizing the used pee stick, with a Remember
the Moment You Knew Keepsake Case to store the pregnancy test that
changed your world. It’s purple and a little cheesy, but you know, awesome. Plus it zips up, making the old
sandwich baggie seem a bit blah by comparison.
For those of you who did save yours, you’re in the the majority with 67% other sentimental freaks
(like some of our editors, ahemcoughLiz), according to a recent survey by e.p.t. The survey also tells
us that 41% of us save their test in a
ziploc baggie. Not me. I took a picture of mine and slipped it into a
“Dear Grandparents” Christmas card. Surprise!
You can get the e.pt. Keepsake Case with a mail-in proof of purchase. Not to get too
Jurassic Park on you, but there’s always the possibility of using a
well-preserved pregnancy test to clone you a few hundred years down the
line.~Delilah
The e.p.t. Keepsake Cases are available with purchase. We presume you can keep an eye out on their website for all the details.
So what do you think? Did you save your home pregnancy test?
I thought about saving it, but it felt too weird to save pee forever. So I took photos instead. Anyway, I have 2 kids to show for my positive pregnancy tests!
Heh. That’s kinda fun! I saved mine for a month or two. Then I got a little grossed out seeing it all the time, even though it’s not really *gross.*
When I read your first sentence, I thought you were about to tell us about a service that actually *bronzed* pee sticks. HAHAHA!
I saved mine! All 3 of them (one for each kid) and I wrote their names and the date I took the test inthe back of each one. They still have the double blue lines on them all this time later. ๐ I found out I was pregnant with my first 2 on the same date! September 16th of 2005 and 2007.
I totally saved one of the two home pregnancy tests that I took. It’s actually sitting on my dresser because I’ve yet to scrapbook it or something. I saved the second one I took because it was more read-able than the first. Too much pee on the first, I think. Haha. ๐ I guess I never thought about the fact that it would fade eventually, anyway. ๐
Well, I’m only 15 weeks along, but I haven’t thrown it out yet.
Yep, kept all of them. Even the ovulation preditor test which – given other, ahem, circumstances – meant I would almost certainly be pregnant and I was. I labelled them, had the HCG reading written on them, the DPO.
Crazy, but we were trying for a LONG time.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!
OMG, I thought I was the only freak that would keep it, lol. That is really cool that EPT came out with a keepsake case. My twins are 3 yrs. old already, and the stick is tucked away in my towel/toiletries closet somewear. I have come across a few times, having no idea where to put it, thinking “if someone looks at this they will think I am crazy or Eww!; but I never have the heart to through it away… Wonder if they would send me one even though I didn’t save the box…
I do not know if I want to keep my pee forever. I would take photo just for memory sake.
I saved mine! I never thought about giving it it’s own pouch though. hmmm
