Philips Avent Digital Video Baby MonitorIn my now six year tenure as a parent, I’ve learned you should never say never. Because there’s a good chance, especially if you have more than one kid, that your never will come back to bite you in the butt.

So while I can say with confidence that I will never purchase a wipes warmer, since using the new Philips Avent digital video baby monitor, I’m now eating a few of my words about video baby monitors.

To be fair, this cool monitor is much different than some of the
heftier models I’ve seen (and admittedly, joked about), thanks to
awesome technology and convenient portability. So instead of being
stuck staring at a big blurry screen in one room of your house, you
just plug the sleek camera near your baby’s crib, then take
the super clear digital screen with you wherever you go.

Cool Mom Picks Pick of the Year 2010It features
both day and night vision, along with a music button that allows you to
pop on a few tunes (albeit electronic-sounding ones that you may not love) for your restless
kiddo.

As someone with children who will often cry for a few
minutes or rustle around for upwards of a half-hour before going back to sleep, having the video monitor
has saved me from that stress of wondering whether I should go in — and then doing so only to wake
them up.

Hands down, Philips’ handy new video baby monitor is well worth the price. And the humble pie I’m
eating. -Kristen
