plaid tightsFun prints on tights are in this fall, as we’ve been told by oh, pretty much every fashion guru anywhere. (No, we don’t have a direct line to every fashion guru everywhere but we read a lot!)

I love the idea of pairing more neutral color palates with funkier prints; it’s such a fabulous way to upgrade last year’s skirts and dresses without spending a ton. Especially if you grab the right designs.

[don’t miss lots of coolness, plus a great offer after the jump!]

The 80s redux thing continues with the plaid tights spotted at ModCloth (above). I think they’re super fresh. Even the second time around. Besides, this time you know not to pair them with neon yellow lace gloves.

look from london tights

Look from London does some pretty awesome things with hosiery, from Missoni prints and geometrics, to Asian floral tights that make me wish I had done more thigh crunches so I could show off more of the design. Also check out the edgy tattoo collection, including this silver peacock design from Ana Sui shown above. Drooling!

floral women's tights

For a more elegant and more easily wearable look check out the floral tights from Hue. They’re just begging for a great, simple pump and a skirt above the knee. I also like the more geometric collection of their Milly tights.

animal print tights

Animal prints are definitely in this season, and Sculptz–the truly soft and comfy shaper tights we discovered earlier this year–have a new line of animal print tights
that are subtly awesome. Because they are shaper tights (ahem), they don’t just look cool, they keep away the
VPL, and really do slim you and smooth you out beautifully.

Not that you need any of that. But I do. So I’m wearing them. So there. –Liz
