makerieA long time ago before there were many children under my feet, I was actually pretty crafty. Yes, I even used to knit! But sadly, I’m hard pressed to find the time these days. That’s why I’m so jealous of all you moms who might be able to attend The Makerie this spring.

[don’t miss a sweet giveaway after the jump. Hurry-ends Sunday!]

This creative retreat, held in beautiful Boulder, Colorado from April 7-10, 2011, is a weekend full of crafty goodness with some of most talented artisans in the country. Attendees will enjoy all sorts of amazing workshops – everything from block printing with Lizzy House to kids’ shoe making (yes, look at these shoes!) with Jessica Hernandez of Joy Folie and lots more, plus Joy Folie baby shoesyoga, hiking, and organic meals. It sounds absolutely heavenly. And don’t worry – you don’t need to be Martha Stewart to attend. DIY goddesses and newbies are welcome.

Then after a long, exhausting day of crafting and eating, you get to rest your head in one of the gorgeous cottages at The Chautauqua. The only thing missing is your kids. Oh right – that’s the point. -Kristen

Reserve your slot at The Makerie, plus check out the special rate for commuting locals.

Congratulations to Donna A. for winning an adorable pair of custom shoes from Joy Folie!
