Stylish baby gateI’m not a big fan of baby gates. Sure, I appreciate the protection they offer, don’t get me wrong. But more often than not, they’re ugly. Now, I’m no interior decorator, but I do like my home to look good. And bland wooden baby gates simply do not look good.

Instead of wishing I could move back to the small (but stair-less) apartment I lived in when my other babies started crawling, I’m ready now to embrace the baby gate. Know why? Because I’ve just discovered a cool one.

The Munchkin Numi is actually a cool baby gate. Believe it. It seems to work as any other baby gate would. Only cooler. Dark
wood. Aluminum frame. And if the videos on the site are any indication,
it’s quite simple to install. There’s even a feature that allows you to
make easy adjustments to keep the gate level in spite of old, uneven
walls, something that would surely come in handy in my crooked house.

But for me, it all comes back to appearances. I’m shallow like
that. And this gate looks so great, I almost imagine I’d leave it up a
little longer than necessary. You know, ’cause it’s pretty. And also
because it would give me a few extra seconds of quiet every time my big
kids have to unlock it to come downstairs. –Stephanie
