green dress shirtMy baby boy is now six, hates to be called “baby boy” and is growing like a weed, as evidenced by his way-too-small spring shirts I unearthed from the back of his closet.

Let me count the ways I love Kate Emerson Designs’ Boys Snap Shirt
for my own little man for spring. First, the retro pattern in shades of
green could have appeared on one of my dad’s wide ties back in the day
but looks totally mod even now. And unlike the 70’s polyester leanings,
this shirt is 100% breathable, soft cotton. Phew.

I also love the easy-to-fasten snaps: Though my grade-schooler is capable of buttoning his own shirts, the snaps are so much more practical for those days when he decides to sit and play with his Legos instead of getting dressed in time for wherever we need to be.

Thank goodness this shirt is meant to be worn untucked—it’s how all of his shirts end up anyway. And the cut is loose enough that it could be layered over a tee if the spring day starts off a bit chilly. And I know I could transition this top from Easter Sunday to Science Fair Monday without needing to think too much about it. Which is probably what I love most of all. -Christina
