Teach pendant from {simple starfish}With three involved-in-everything kids, there is no way I can spend more than a few dollars on teacher thank-you gifts, even for their favorites. So I now approach my fellow parents to pool our dollars together for one nicer item.

There’s one female teacher we know well who I know would adore a piece of jewelry that lets her know how amazing we all think she is.

This sterling silver teachers’ necklace by {simple starfish} makes a lovely gift for an educator who can wear it any day, and not just to school board meetings.
Created by mama Christine, the pendant features a precious little apple (check out that tiny leaf!) resting on top of a hand-brushed disc. And I love the font that looks like it was made by a clickity-clack typewriter. Yes, I’m old enough to remember that.
I also like that the cost, while higher than my own budget for a single teacher, isn’t so much that it seems inappropriate when coming from a whole class. And a nice reminder of the class that gave it to her. Not that she’d forget the time my son showed off his new talent for making fart noises with his armpit.  -Christina
