The 411 that can stave off the 911

Kids' safety wristbands by Mabel's LabelsSummer is finally here and at our house that means lots and lots of family field trips. To the farm, the zoo, the local wading pools and more. If it’s kid-friendly, we’ll be there.

But this year I’ve got a whole extra kid to keep an eye on (sure, he can’t walk, but still), so I’m thinking I might get a lot of use out of these wristbands specifically designed to keep kids safe.

The Mabel’s Labels My 411 Wristbands
are exactly like the kind you might remember from the pre-kid,
pre-internet days of lining up for really great concert tickets– that
you get custom printed with all the vitals you want to include. No need
to worry about a little someone wondering off and then forgetting her
phone number; it’s all right there on her wrist.

At the same time, it’s nice and subtle so you’re not advertising your child’s name and number to the world.

Plus, they’re water-, sweat-, chlorine- and sunscreen-resistant. Perfect.

To
top it off, the five available designs are adorable and my daughter has
been asking almost daily if she can wear a “bee bracelet” around the
house. Frankly, I’m tempted to let her. This three-kid business is
making me forget my phone number most of the time, anyway. Might be nice
to have it handy. -Stephanie P.

  • I just wrote a post on a similar product called Safety Tattoos. http://ow.ly/5vtGt

They hold all the same emergency info and/or allergy information which so many kids have these days.

I think that both the tattoo and bracelet are great options for when your kids aren’t in your direct care.

With the bracelet, I would be afraid they might take them off to easily. I suppose it would depend on the kid.
