Kids' coutureAs if I needed more cute kiddie clothes to covet, an uber-hot European shopping site for kids under 14 is launching stateside, with free shipping to boot. Hold on to your credit cards!

Alex and Alexa is every fashionista-in-training’s dream come true. With the latest mini-me styles from very grown up labels like Chloe, Dior and Marc Jacobs (well, Little Marc Jacobs), this site is not for the frugalista. That said, their sale section does have some awesome deals–70% off a cool striped skirt by Kid by Phllip Lim, or a pair of fab skinny trousers for $17 down from $92? Yes please.

There’s also a sweet section of baby clothes, if your best friend’s newborn simply has to be clothed in Burberry, Paul Smith Junior, or Ben Sherman. In fact, isn’t this Ben Sherman raglan tee for boys (at right) awesome?

Ben Sherman raglan teeI also got hooked into the Alex and Alexa online magazine,
which is a fun mix of editorial and e-commerce. You can shop the entire
looks of all the kids featured inside, or just browse for inspiration (like most of us will do, no doubt). The back-to-school edition of
the mag is worth a look, if only for the six inspiring stories about some remarkable kids; there’s a chess
player, a 7 year-old artist with works at the Saatchi Gallery (excuse me!) and an
Olympic-hopeful gymnast. It’s hardly a high-tech iPad mag, but it’s still beautifully photographed.

But really, this site is all about the
clothes. If I were heading back to school, I would definitely want to
strut down the hallways in the Junior Gaultier tutu outfit (above, left). Too bad the clothes only go up to a 14.  -Melissa
