chantecaille Just Skin tinted moisturizerI have confessed before that I am an unapologetic makeup snob. My feeling has always been, you change your shoes, but you wear your face every day. That said, I’m willing to spend more money on great products, but only on the great ones. And not all of the pricy ones are great, as I’ve learned. But now I’ve finally found a tinted moisturizer that I’m simply smitten with.

If you don’t know Chantecaille, it’s like my verison of upscale cosmetics nirvana–it’s a family-run business that’s authentically eco-friendly, wonderfully philanthropic,
and committed to non-toxic ingredients and fantastic results. I also
love that everything actually smells like the fresh botanical extracts they use.
(Mmm…honeysuckle.)

For the past couple of years I’ve been in love with the Just Skin tinted moisturizer with SPF 15,
so much so that now I grab it in a darker shade for the summer months, and
then a slightly lighter shade for the fall.

If you normally use a heavy cover-up, this is not for you; what Just Skin does is even out fairly decent skin
nicely, and without ever looking cakey or greasy. Plus the mineral-based SPF is so lightweight that you never feel it, unlike another high-end
brand I tried recently that made me feel like my face was suffocating.

You’ll still want to put on a lightweight moisturizer first with Just Skin–I’ve been using the Mama Mio Mighty Moisturizer lately
and the combo has been working great for me.

If you’re looking for sheer
coverage while you get the final weeks out of your sun-kissed summer
skin–and you’re willing to spend a bit more for a fantastic skincare
product–hit a department store and find your perfect shade. And while you’re there, sniff the rosewater in that mascara. Yum. –Liz

You can find the Just Skin tinted moisturizer and other Chantecaille cosmetics from their own website, or department stores like Nordstrom, Barneys NY and Saks
