Little Silkies girls' footless tightsOctober is here, which in my house means we move the tights from the back of the drawer to the front and get ready to say goodbye to those cute bare knees. I’m so thrilled to find a new line of tights for girls that’s not only affordable, the quality is something I’d buy for myself.

The makers of Sculptz,
some of my favorite shapeware hosiery, have come out with a kids version
of (no, not their shapeware!) their Silkies line of tights. Aptly
called Little Silkies,
they are pretty much everything you want in a tight.

Made of nylon with
just a bit of spandex, they’ve got the same kind of weave, comfort and
gentle sheen of a ballet tight, but seem to be just a bit more durable.

(My girls tear through their ballet tights–literally. Sigh.)

The footless tights are absolutely adorable as a sleeker leggings
alternative, plus they don’t seem to roll up on on the calf. There are also some standard footie tights that are just as
well-constructed. At these prices–just $15 for a three pack–you can
grab one of each to get you through the next two seasons and beyond.

One thing I really love? The colors. Purple. Navy. Grey. White. Not a
spot of leopard or a drop of shimmer in sight. I’m sure they’ll come
soon, but for now I just love the simplicity of a good, basic pair of
little girl tights. –Liz
