We are so excited to welcome Stacie of One Hungry Mama to the Cool Mom Picks team! We’ve admired her common sense, approachable, clever posts about food and cooking for ages now.
This is the first of her weekly niblets of food-related coolness every Wednesday–a roundup of Super Bowl sweets that’ll score big with your football fans, big and small.

What a week! My first post as part of the Cool Mom team today. Groundhog Day tomorrow. Thank a Mailman Day on Saturday. And we can’t forget the Madonna concert, er, I mean, the Super Bowl on Sunday.

If you’re not too exhausted from celebrating the predictive powers of small animals, your postal carrier and more foodie goodness on Cool Mom Picks, then you might want to whip up one of these football-themed desserts to wash down those wings and seven layer dip. You can even engage some kiddo help. Each of them are more fun and more creative than just putting out bowls of red and blue MnMs.

If you’ve ever been too intimidated to take on the cake pop, now is your chance! The football cake pops (above, from Baked With Love and Butter) are as simple as it gets, and super-chocolatey chocolate cake bites are always a touchdown, even with the surliest fans.

Super Bowl desserts: Corona and Blue Moon cupcakes

Have your beer and eat it, too with these Blue Moon and Corona cupcakes spotted at Erica Sweet Tooth. If you ask me, pairing beer and dessert very cleverly kills two birds with one stone. Of course you might want to just stick with the Blue Moon caps, to honor the Giants. Or Patriots. (Funny how that works this year.) Also, don’t worry about sharing these with your mini-football fans–the alcohol in the batter will cook off while baking. Just be sure to skip brushing their finished cupcakes with beer.

Super Bowl desserts: football chocolate rice crispy treats
Don’t feel like baking? Add these chocolate Rice Krispy footballs from Make and Takes to your Super Bowl dessert roster. Have you ever seen a kid–or a grownup–turn down Rice Krispy treats? Enough said.  –Stacie
