Decorating the nursery is one of the best–or most frustrating, depending on your point of view–rituals of pregnancy. Whether you’re a perfectionist that knows exactly what you want and can’t find it anywhere (oh, how I feel you!) or are seriously design-challenged, we’ve found a great online tool that helps you visualize your dream nursery and have a lot of fun while you’re at it.
The Nursery Designer by Carousel Designs is a cool online tool that lets you design your own custom crib bedding online, right to the smallest detail. You can mix and match fabrics freely or let the company suggest fabrics that go with your initial selections. (Note: We haven’t tried the bedding out ourselves yet.) But the best part is that you can also play with wall paint colors and floor treatments — so you can see how the bedding would look in an existing room. Or perhaps you will be inspired to try a new wall color. In fact, the site helpfully tells you the name of the paint color so you don’t have to waste time finding a match.
The best part? There’s no sewing required. Once you’re happy with your selection as it looks online, you can purchase your custom bedding right on the site. But you will have to paint the walls yourself if you’re suddenly inspired to change your wall color. Sorry. –Roxanna
