KindiefestFor the past few years, I’ve traveled to Brooklyn, grabbed my editor Liz, and headed to the most fun conference filled with some of the best and smartest people making and promoting kids’ music.

We do it for love of the genre. And to find great new family-friendly music for you all, so that you have much more to choose from than yet another rendition of You Are My Sunshine sung by an off-key puppet.
But this is much more than an insider’s only event, and on Sunday, April 29, doors will swing widely open at Littlefield in Brooklyn for a public music festival you won’t want to miss.
{keep reading for your chance to win a big collection of CD’s from our kindie faves!}

Now in its fourth year, Kindiefest is such a feel-good conference for anyone who is working to make kids’ music better—I highly recommend it for anyone in the industry. Where else will you rub shoulders with Dan Zanes, hear a keynote from Yo Gabba Gabba’s co-creator Scott Schultz, and then hear Yours Truly on a panel about The State of Kindie? And Saturday night’s conference-attendees-only show will bring down the house with such CMP favorites as Caspar Babypants featuring Chris Ballew, Renee & Jeremy and Gustafer Yellowgold rocking all our grown-up socks off.

But what if you’re just a parent who likes good music with your kids? You’re in luck.

That Sunday, pack up the family and come to Brooklyn where you can catch a day of sets from the quirky lo-fi sound of Apple Brains to the power pop of Big Bam Boom. You are pretty much guaranteed not to hear a cover of anything by Katy Perry–or even a rendition of You Are My Sunshine sung by a puppet. Unless it is a totally kick-ass version. That much I can guarantee. Christina
