You can’t grab an original piece of art by kid-lit favorite and real-life wild thing Maurice Sendak unless you’ve got super deep pockets. But you can snag the next best thing: Sendak’s artwork, already framed, and hand-selected by the master himself. Oh, and it’s on sale, too.

Sendak at Cool Mom Picks!

Our pals at Fab.com are currently hosting a gorgeous collection of fine art reproductions presented by 1000Museums and hand-selected by Maurice Sendak himself from his portfolio. Each 1971 piece from one of eight books (including faves Where the Wild Things Are, Little Bear, and In The Night Kitchen) comes in a black hardwood frame with archival mat and mounting hardware. And each piece includes a letter from Sendak himself explaining why he chose to include that particular piece–which to me makes them work every penny.

Tthe original artworks were re-photographed at the Rosenbach Museum & Library in Philadelphia so for the first time, the images are presented on single sheets of paper with no crease or center line. There are bright pieces, strange pieces, and subdued black and white pieces that would be perfect for a sophisticated nursery or playroom.

Remember, since they’re behind glass, your kids won’t be able to eat them up, even if they love them so. Heh. –Delilah
