Oh, the bottle stage. I remember jiggling wailing, hungry babies whose only goal in life was to get some warm milk, and those minutes of waiting for bottles to warm would seem like hours. This time around, I’ve discovered a fantastic alternative to those dreaded bottle-warming-minutes.

The organicKidz thermal baby bottles not only feature great designs, they keep liquids cold or hot for up to six hours. Genius!

Now I did test that claim and found it to be mostly true, although it really worked best if the liquid was either super cold or super hot to start with (uh, neither of which you’d give your baby right away). Lukewarm milk held its temperature well for a few hours, which is still a godsend for when you’re out and about and don’t have access to a warmer.

OrganicKidz also makes non-thermal bottles, and as to be expected (and much appreciated), they are all PVC-, BPA-, and phthalate-free, made from a higher-grade stainless steel to avoid that metallic taste.

The one issue with these bottles is that they aren’t clear, so you can’t see exactly how much you are pouring–or how much your baby is drinking. Not that it’s hard to guestimate. Still, hey probably won’t be your go-to bottle for everyday use, but for road trips where you need to keep everything at the right temperature, or hot days outside where you want to supplement with cold water, they’re perfect.  Jeana
