The Red Hot Chili Peppers have a way of taking me back in time. As a parent, I play Under the Bridge for my kids and encourage them to appreciate how the music affects them. Cooler still, Flea, RHCP’s bassist, is a big supporter of children in the arts and a regular in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles. So I’m digging this new collaboration for kids between classic bands and classic style, courtesy of a very surprising source.
At J Crew, of all places, you’ll find a very cool selection of rock n roll tees for kids in collaboration between Crew Cuts and Bravado, which is like the ultimate authentic source for rock wear.
I always want to get my kids band shirts from my days of yore, and now I’m so glad it’s easy to find children’s sizes. While the Doors and Stones circa 1975 are available too (not crazy about the Beach Boys design), it’s The RHCP that clearly have my heart. –Eva
Red Hot Chili Peppers kids tee and other rock n roll tees for kids by Bravado are available at Crewcuts. And psst, J Crew…they’re filed under boys, but our girls like them too!
My 14 yo son wanted a Rolling Stones T-shirt because of the lips logo. I asked him to name one song by them, and he couldn’t.
But he did know a few Metallica songs so I feel I’m doing a good job at parenting :)(
Just FYI flea is the bassist for RHCP, otherwise I like the article and my daughter has a few band shirts.
