We always love websites with gifts that give back, and now there’s another one that’s not just all about do-gooding, but selling truly fabulous products. Let’s just say you’re not going to have to click all that much to find something you want to add to your wishlist.
Given Goods Company offers accessories, home goods, and all kinds of gifts that are amazingly well curated. Don’t expect a world of big beaded necklaces here (not that they can’t be great too), but the kinds of items you’d find in a favorite local boutique.
Toggle over the little blue G icon, and you can see in an instant that the striped textiles by Kara Weaves provide sustainable job opportunities for artisans in India; One Love Organics beauty products provide educational scholarships to low-income families in the US and abroad; or that, for every purchase, the Smile Squared Toothbrush donates one to a child in need in Zambia, in the spirit of State Backpacks, Warby Parker, or TOMS shoes.
Personally, I have my eye on the Mexican-made old school alphabet cards as a neat baby gift. I’m also glad to see items from CMP faves like Esperos bags, eco-friendy eco-friendly Vers audio products that plant trees in the US, and Raven +Lily jewelry.
You can sort by product category of course, or by price, cause, or impact region, should you have a partcular effort that’s near and dear to your heart. And what’s really special, is you can keep tracking the purchase’s impact even after you’ve bought it.
The site just launched today so it’s still a little light, and some of the images are a bit slow to load. (Hint: scroll down in each category below what seems to be the bottom and more products will pop up.) Still, expect tons more products, especially by the time the holidays roll around. Which will be before you know it. -Liz
