We have no problem pinning (and drooling over) all the outrageous birthday cakes that parents make for their kids on our Party Time Pinterest Board from time to time. But once in a while there’s an idea that looks beyond awesome–and is actually easy to make. So thanks today go to A Subtle Revelry for turning us on to the idea for a Donut Cake recipe adapted from a version from Catherine Newman (who we love).

While you do use a bundt cake pan, this ten-minute cake actually tastes more like a donut, with the glazed frosting and sprinkles on top to add to the delicious ruse. Something tells me we have a new birthday cake to try out this year.
