I’ve had my eye on a few hot kids’ trends for spring, but the one that caught my eye immediately was ombre dip dye clothes. Maybe it’s because my kids’ clothes are already sort of that way anyway thanks to a bunch of juice spills. (Ha.) I love the way the gradated color saturation transforms a simple piece into something so stylish, and one that won’t look out of style so fast with tie dye always popular for kids. Plus, it just screams warm weather to me, which I think we could all use a dose of right now.

Here, 7 dip dye pieces for kids in different price ranges that I have my eye on.

Dip-dyed jeggings at The Children's Place | Cool Mom Picks
Ombre jeggings (are we still using that word?) are all over the place, but I’m a fan of the price of these dip-dyed jeggings at The Children’s Place. ($10, on sale)

Ombre tie-dye t-shirt at Land's End | Cool Mom Picks
This long-sleeved tie-dye t-shirt from Land’s End can pass as a basic t-shirt with an updated twist. And the price is fantastic right now! It’s great with jeans as winter wraps up, or with shorts on those cooler spring nights. ($14.99, on sale)

Scarpa dip dye jean jacket at Peek | Cool Mom Picks
We’ve featured the smart girl t-shirts at Peek on Cool Mom Picks before, but it turns out they’ve got more than cool shirts. I want this scarpa jean jacket for myself. ($68)

Though if you’re more of a cardigan fan, check out the ombre cotton jersey cardigan from Etsy Shop Ducky Mosh, shown at very top. It’s perfect for tossing over a t-shirt and jeans for boys or girls. ($20)

IKKS ombre skirt at Melijoe | Cool Mom Picks I bet my active girls would love this IKKS ombre skirt at Melijoe that’s blends stylish and sporty. The dip dye adds a chic twist to what would otherwise be a basic skirt for girls–but you still get so much versatility  out of it, whether it’s paired with chunky ankle boots or cute canvas sneakers and no socks. ($65)

Splendid marble slub dip-dye hoodie | Cool Mom Picks
I’m huge fan of Splendid grown-up t-shirts, so you can bet I’m digging this marble slub dip dye hoodie. So great for the layering look with a white long-sleeve tee underneath, or all by itself when things warm up. And if that doesn’t say “beach day” I’m not sure what does. ($62)

DIY dip-dye tutorial at Refinery29 | Cool Mom Picks
If you’re crafty, you can actually learn how to dip dye your own clothes with this handy tutorial at Refinery 29. It’s a cool way to rejuvenate an old pair of leggings, t-shirt, or even jeans that you might have retired. And as you can see, hot trends don’t always come cheap when someone else makes them for you.
