Figuring out an outfit on a daily basis is not easy. Add pregnancy to the process and you can get a recipe for frustration as I can say from experience. Luckily HATCH, my favorite chic maternity brand, just introduced the HATCH Layers set, an easy formula for stylish dressing throughout your nine months and (way) beyond.

The HATCH Layers concept is that you really only need three key pieces to build your pregnancy wardrobe: Tank top, long sleeve shirt and leggings. I concur! I lived in those three pieces during both of my pregnancies. Leggings and a tank can go under everything, and who doesn’t need a long-sleeved tee? (Except those times you’re getting those pregnancy sweats, of course.)

It’s not a brand new concept, but one that HATCH is doing nicely. the set comes packaged together in an adorable stamped drawstring bag, perfect for travel or baby shower gifting. And while the price may make you go “wha-ah?” the difference between the HATCH Layers and the same three pieces found at a fast-fashion retailer is huge.

HATCH Layers Maternity basics in 3-piece set

Here you get a ridiculously soft and flattering (important!) white polyblend knit for the tank and tee. Both tops feature extra fabric to stylishly cover those baby bumps. I loved the figure-hugging look as opposed to wearing frumpier oversized tees with no stretch when I was pregnant.

As for the leggings, HATCH uses a luxurious nylon/Lycra blend that hugs your bottom half in all the right places, and the elasticized waistband is perfect for pregnancy or uh, Thanksgiving meal time.

HATCH definitely doesn’t do things on the cheap, but if you want a few basics you can feel really good about for ten – and probably more – months and are willing to spend the money , I can’t recommend them enough. No wonder the label has been spotted on hot mamas-to-be like Rachel Bilson and Emily Blunt. If I were pregnant again, HATCH Layers would be number one on my splurge-y wishlist.

HATCH Layers are $158 for the set at HATCH, with a portion of the purchase price supporting Every Mother Counts.
