Finding a winter coat for the baby always seems easy, but it can be a challenge to find a hat that is logo, character and cheesy design-free. We came across these delightful, updated-retro styles from Little Sun Hat that I think will do the trick to keep mini noggins warm this winter.

The plaid winter hats will have your little ones looking like they just stepped out of a 1950s catalog in the best way possible. Designer Kara Meloy drew inspiration for her new winter collection from her childhood in the Cascade Mountains, focusing on plaids and tweeds, with charmingly classic cuts.

The collection is available in three styles and a small selection of familiar patterns in warm colors like plum and pine. The cap design is my favorite by far, with the ear flaps like my grandfather still rocks, but the bonnets are adorable too. Hand- and well-made in the USA, sizes are available to cover up little heads from 0-24 months.

We say hats off! (Well, we tried not to, but we couldn’t help it.)
