With the Etsy artists starting to see a decline in visits since the homepage redesign (we have trouble with it too, sigh) you can expect to see a lot more of our favorite Etsy finds here, as well as a new, weekly Etsy find of the week delivered right to your inbox if you subscribe to Cool Mom Picks. We’ve always been so pleased to be able to support the kinds of smaller designers who set up shop there, and one of my newest finds is small indeed: Gwyneth Hulse Design, a cool New Zealand jewelry and housewares shop which offers only a few handcrafted items. But wow are they lovely.

I’m particularly taken with the faceted geometric bracelets which look amazing in sets of two or three. I love the play between the bright paint and the native New Zealand totara wood. The minimalist design is simple but not simplistic, making the bangles so interesting to look at.

There are also some great rings and a fun statement necklace, but the other thing I really am crushing on are the geometric tealight holders. I love grouping tealights on a table (as anyone who read my novel-length holiday table setting manifesto knows by now) and a few of these beautiful candle holders would do the trick.

The types of woods used are all native to New Zealand, making the pieces a little more special and different than the bamboo or walnut pieces I’m used to seeing, and they’re all finished with natural paints and materials like beeswax. Plus the artist has such a nice sense of color; that mint tea light could even break me out of my black and white routine. Maybe. For a little.
