We’ve seen lots of awesome cardboard playhouses over the years, from European village squares to castles to pirate ships. We even featured OTO’s gorgeously designed ice cream truck playhouse when it was a mere Indiegogo fundraising campaign, and now we’re thrilled to see that that dream became a funded reality. What’s more, the line has recently expanded to include an absolutely clever cardboard taco truck playhouse.

The design is amazing, with really beautiful non-toxic offset printing. I also love that these cardboard food truck playhouses are made in the US, and that you can hit the website to print out your own custom vanity plate. Natch.
At $59 they’re priced like special gifts so if you know a kid in the 2-7 range, you have a winning gift. Yeah, maybe it’s perfect for four and five-year olds, but my own seven-year-old is looking over my shoulder right now and I can feel the want emanating from her pores for each of the trucks. Even if she won’t eat a taco.
There’s supposedly a whole line of food truck playhouses in the works, and my vote goes for a co-branded deal with the El Jefe Cuban food truck from the movie Chef; followed by DUMBO’s Mamu Thai Noodle Truck. Not just because it’s gorgeous, but because I could eat pretend Drunken Noodles served by my kids any time.
