Shopping for t-shirts for my 7-year-old daughter this week, I can’t believe I’m still seeing so many with slogans like I’m so fancy!, Me, my selfie, and I, and—worst of all—Boy magnet. Oof. Why? The last thing I want is for my smart-as-a-whip girl to think she better stay pretty if she’s going to get anywhere in life So, in honor of Take Our Daughters or Sons to Work Day, and especially, our girls who are ready to change the world as soon as we give them the keys, I’ve put together some favorite cool career t-shirts for girls.
(And of course there are zillions more, but consider this a start!)
Not that this generation needs to be told “you can do anything.” They are growing up knowing it better than any generation of girls before. But it’s nice to know whatever that “anything” may be, there may be a tee out there to show they that you support their dreams too.

If your daughter has a brilliant imagination and can’t help but express it beautifully on paper or canvas (or with pipe cleaners and glitter glue), we love this Claude Monet quote tee about painting from Peek Kids. And if it gets covered in paint splatters, don’t worry. Consider it authenticity.
Future Palentologist

Don’t forget, this Thursday, April 23, is Take Our Daughters or Sons to Work Day. If you haven’t planned for your kid to tag along with you to work that day–whatever it may be — give it some good thought. It’s a great way for them to see what doctors and artists and scientists and, well, bloggers really do all day. Speaking from experience—it’s a day she’ll never forget.
