Since my baby literally can’t be without me for more than 20 minutes without starting a scream-fest — I’m just that special, I guess — it means I need to be ready to feed pretty much at all times. Like, the second I arrive home from a workout. And that means I need a good nursing sports bra.
It seems unfair that moms don’t have a million fantastic nursing sports bra options in this day and age, and I’ve been looking for great ones. I do wish I had more to share with right now (I bet you and I can name several major brands that should get on that, stat), but here are two worth trying.

The Boob Fast Food Nursing Sports Bra definitely wins the prize for most literal name ever. From popular Swedish maternity and nursing label Boob, it is pretty much a traditional sports bra with one-handed nursing clips, and it’s awesome. The padded shoulder straps really do offer some extra comfort and support while the inner nursing cups are made of soft fast-drying mesh to protect against leakage.
It’s also super comfortable and easy to put on. And true to its name, it does provide fast access to baby’s all-you-can-eat buffet. I have run a treadmill and also tried a fairly intense boot camp with mine on and never once had to adjust it. That’s saying something.
Cake Maternity’s Orange Zest Nursing Sports Bra–evidently, food names are now a trend for nursing sports bras–is the second fantastic option that I can recommend. It allows you to put it on like a regular bra and also gives you the option to wear it racer-back style. Just be sure you have the right size; mine was too small at first and I found it a little harder to get on than the Boob sports bra.
There are mesh panels for breathability and drop-down cups for easy feeding access. Support is also not an issue with the Cake nursing sports bra and there was minimum…shall we say, bouncing? During the spin class that I took while wearing it.
By the way, if it sounds like I hit the gym five times a week, rest assured new mamas, that’s not the case. Most days, I’m in my nursing top and yoga pants wondering where my bonbons are and just trying to survive the day with two kiddos under two. But it’s sure nice to have a couple of nursing sports bras I can turn to when I do find the time and energy for a much needed workout.Even if I know that I’ll never magically look like that nursing sports bra model up top who could not possibly have had a baby anytime near this photo shoot. At least that’s what I tell myself.
