Thanks for making this site. As i am not a skater to buy my nephew (9yr old) something is a challenge. The line between ‘lame’ and ‘cool’ is hard to distinguish. Nike SB brand stuff is laughed at by the real skaters (so I hear). They favor the old school brands. Any advice on cool gifts for 2018 for a 9 year old skater?

Santa Cruz vx deck or The Almost Uber deck the best decks on the market. the almost Uber deck was designed by RODNEY MULLEN who basically made skateboarding what it is today for example HE INVENTED THE KICKFLIP.
I suggest getting vans like old skool, authentic, slip ons, etc… If you are going to get vans, I suggest getting pros as they are meant for skateboarding.
for shoes etnies marana or marana joslin I would get him a mid pair to protect his ankles without him knowing. figure out what parts of his skateboard are giving him trouble then go to tacticts skateshp. com or ccs. com or warehouse skateboards . com and buy the size he skates of deck wheels trucks or bearings. A set of Bones Swiss ceramic bearings would knock his socks off. they are the fastest made.
