I just so happened to be in a Vans store without children last weekend (dreamy, right?) and whoa, just when I thought some of my favorite shoes couldn’t get any cooler, they did. If you’re like me and are shopping for spring and summer shoes for your kids, take a peek at what I found.

So, while the Late Night line isn’t super new, it’s definitely new to me. I snatched up the Donut slip-ons for my daughter, who’s completely, 100% obsessed with them. But I have to say the Pizza slip-ons cracked me up.

I was also really into their new 50th anniversary line, though not particularly summery in color or design, they’re definitely wardrobe staples my kids can wear with everything. And if you’ve never had Vans before, they hold up remarkably well, as in, we’ve handed down many pairs through a couple of siblings. So, knowing that makes the price tag a little easier for me to swallow.

The new custom Vans: Design your own, even down to the laces!

But I think what got me most excited was their new, revamped custom Vans line, which, you guessed it, lets your budding little designer (or hey, even you) create your own shoes. Here’s what my girls came up with, and that was after a solid 30 minutes of playing around with the website. (Hey, fun, free rainy day activity, too!).

I will say I’m a little bummed that their custom styles are only available for men, women, and boys, with slip-ons available in youth and toddler sizes. Sure, my girls can just customize the boys styles (which, by the way, are pretty much identical to girls), but considering in my house, it’s the girls that wear the Vans, not the boy, I wish they’d just make them “kids” or “youth.” I’m pretty sure the ladies are digging the ability to custom design their own kicks as much, or maybe even more than, boys.
