The courageous action figure that helps kids with cancer. Now that’s super!

This fierce, courageous action figure does something pretty amazing: She helps kids fight the toughest battle of their lives. For each Courage Core Power action figure purchased, one is donated to a child affected by cancer who could use a little courage. That’s her real super power. But she can also run, stand, and sit on a My Little Pony without it getting awkward, thanks to 30 points of articulation. And we like her rad accessories — check out that flaming energy sword and her awesome courage shield — and the fact that she has the body of a fit, strong woman (no...

An easy way to help more kids learn from real news, not fake news.

We’re big fans of supporting quality journalism, especially in this age of where fake news is running rampant. Because, facts matter. (Not that this is a big stake in the ground, mamas. I mean, is any normal person really like, “Whoo! Fake news! We need more of it!” Let’s hope not.) So when I learned about The New York Times Sponsor a Subscription Program, I was so excited to share this with other parents and educators who feel the same way. A clever RBG Dissent Pin that supports organizations doing good

I’m a super fan of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She’s an incredible, inspiring female role model for my girls and a serious badass too. Plus she can throw shade like nobody’s business. So when I found these RBG Dissent Pins honoring the Notorious RBG I immediately placed an order for myself and my daughters. Related: The Ruth Bader Ginsburg coloring pages. Free, printable, and making history. Ameenah posing with her RGB dissent collar pin, via @dissentpins on IG This cool pin was created by Nick Jehlen and artist Caitlin Kuhwald, and inspired by the collar Justice Ginsburg wears over her robe on days she dissents on decisions being handed...

Our favorite new words just added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, from Seussian to humblebrag.

Yesterday, Merriam-Webster announced they had added more than 1000 new words to the dictionary, and wow, word nerds like me could lose ourselves in here for ages. Actually, I kind of did. According to the editors the terms come from everything from tech to science and medicine, pop culture, sports, slang, foreign languages, and more. But what’s as fascinating to me as the words themselves, is just how long it took some of them to make it into print. Humblebrag is like a baby down there! Take a look at a few of my favorites, then be sure to click over...
