It’s one thing to customize a piece of keepsake jewelry with your own message, another to be able to do it in your own handwriting. Don’t worry, you don’t have to do the metalwork too — leave that to LA artist Emily who can even customize something for you if you have a very specific idea in mind.

Artist Vanna Chupp of Le Papier is one of our go-to sources for the most thoughtful silhouette gifts and jewelry, and we are totally blown away by her newest offering, this silhouette charm pendant in silver or gold (also shown at top). It’s so subtle, it almost looks like a crescent moon at first but on closer inspection you realize you’re looking at the face of your favorite child or grandchild. Aw.

This new, mom-run company was one of our favorite finds this past holiday. Their stunning keepsake lockets are just exquisite in person, with the sweet sentiment, With You, engraved subtly on the back to remind your favorite mom that she’s always in your heart. Custom jewelry from a child’s artwork (Prices vary with keychains starting at $89, pendants starting at $139, Formia Design)
We are so thrilled to learn were the first site to feature Formia Design, and since then, we can’t believe how they’ve grown! Trained goldsmith Mia van Beek’s work is exquisite — she really manages to translate a child’s drawing, however scribbly, into a charm, a necklace, a lariat, a brooch and more. There’s even a funky leather cuff which is something you don’t see so much in the world of sentimental jewelry. Know that her turnaround time is really impressive at 5-7 days (more if you add precious stones), but order soon for sure! This isn’t one you want to miss out on.

We think this transparent block bracelet is just so cool, like something your cool Great Aunt would have had hidden in her jewelry box in the 60’s. Add a name or a birth date, and it’s a perfect keepsake gift for any mom. But especially a first-time mom or a new grandma. Sniff.

For a keepsake to be special for the wearer, it may not have to be personalized at all; just created with the very perfect message in mind.
