If you’ve read our site for any length of time, then you know that American-made products are our heart and soul; celebrating them (and the indie makers behind them) is actually one of the reasons we started Cool Mom Picks in the first place. It’s why we love having our own Cool Mom Picks indie shop at Great.ly, which allows us to support local, indie artisans in another way.

So, in honor of Labor Day, we rounded up some of our favorite American-made goodies featured in our indie shop. Whether you’re looking for a special treat for yourself, someone close to you, or just want to get a head start on the holidays (go you!), we think these seven picks fit the bill.

Made in the USA gift ideas: Paloma's Nest porcelain bowls

We’ve loved Paloma’s Nest since discovering them years ago, and while they’ve added gorgeous kids’ gifts and furniture to their selection over their years, we’re partial to their original porcelain bowls which make lovely gifts.

Made in the USA gift ideas: Olivine Atelier Love + Salt beach spray

Seattle-based Julie Wray of Olivine Atelier makes exquisite beauty and hair products that are becoming fast favorites of beauty editors everywhere, including this Love + Salt beach spray which we’re hoping lets us hold onto every last bit of summer–in our hair anyway.

Made in the USA gift ideas: Navy cotton gauze scarf by Graymarket Designs

Graymarket Designs produces all their items in small batches, constructed by local artisans out of their Berkeley, California, studio. We’re particularly smitten with their cotton gauze scarves which are perfect for fall, or any time you want a lighter scarf as an accent or layering piece.

Made in the USA gift ideas: Gold spike studs by Julian & Co

Mom and designer Tania Condon of Julian & Co started her San Diego business years ago creating beautiful keepsake jewelry for mothers, and she has recently added a fine jewelry line for any woman that we love. These gold spike studs are the perfect wardrobe staple.

Made in the USA gift ideas: Notecards from Michelle LaRocca of Meesch

If you’re paper addicts like us, you’ll love these hand-printed notecards by Brooklyn-based Michelle LaRocca of Meesch, which are a mix of whimsy and sophistication. Lucky the person who gets these in her mailbox.

Made in the USA gift ideas: Jaime Derringer art prints

We’re huge fans of Jaime Derringer’s popular blog Design Milk (like oh, every other design fan in the world) but did you know she’s an artist too? Her gorgeous abstract art prints make extremely affordable gifts.

Made in the USA gift ideas: LePapier Designs silhouette luggage tags

LePapier Studio is always a Cool Mom Picks gift guide staple, with owner Vana Chupp’s wonderful personalized designs a staff favorite around here. Be sure to check out her silhouette luggage tags which are a sophisticated way to get your bags back into your hands.
