I am so grateful to find these 7 swimwear brands that respect and honor the diversity of women’s bodies. Because for me, the post-baby swimwear hunt felt a bit like jumping off an Olympic-height diving board — into a pool of g-strings and plunging necklines. For so many women who aren’t a “perfect” size 0 like the swimwear models on most catalog pages, swimsuit shopping can be pretty painful.

So whatever your body type, we hope these brands who make flattering, supportive, and fuss-free swimsuits will let you feel good enough about yourself to get in the pool with your kids and make the most of summer.

Swimwear that honors women's bodies: Kortni Jean swimwear

Kortni Jean Swimwear

I’m currently coveting the vintagey, chic swimsuits at Kortni Jean so hard. Her site features mix-and-match tops and bottoms, which are reasonably priced enough that you can buy a full suit for around $100. Plus, owner and founder Kortni Jean uses curvy, realistic models to help give you a sense of what these suits might actually look like on the bodies of women who aren’t Gigi Hadad.

Swimwear that honors women's bodies: Jessica Rey swimwear

Jessica Rey Swimwear

Jessica Rey broke the internet several years ago with her viral TED talk about swimsuits and the male gaze. Then, being the change she wanted to see in the world, she launched Jessica Rey swimwear, a line of adorable swimwear like this Gabriella blouson swimsuit, that proves that confidence (and suits that leave more to the imagination) can be sexy.

Swimwear that honors women's bodies: Malia Mills swimwear

Malia Mills swimwear

The Cool Mom Picks team featured Malia Mills way back in the day, for their then progressive use of non-models sporting great swimsuit designs that honor different women’s bodies. I’m happy to say their line is looking better than ever in 2018! I love that even larger-busted (up to an E cup!) women can now wear swim bralettes, thanks to a supportive underwire top. This is an indie designer brand, meaning their swimwear’s a little pricier than some other options, but I their timeless silhouettes hold up for years.

Swimwear that honors women's bodies: Modcloth swimwear

Modcloth

I’ve been a devoted Modcloth shopper for years, thanks to their quirky prints, flattering cuts, and great prices. And it turns out their swimwear is no exception. I recently ordered this Sunrise Swim halter two-piece for myself, and it’s a leg-lengthening, waist-emphasizing dream. I really appreciate that the site features range of models in each suit and that they’re affordable at around $100 a suit.

Swimwear that honors women's bodies: June Loop swimwear

June Loop Swimwear

Mom-of-two Kristie Kemp designed swimsuits like this bright floral maillot to be cute and functional, so you’re not constantly adjusting each time you climb in and out of the pool. Which, as the mom of a very hyper toddler, I really appreciate. Her models run the gamut of sizes and shapes, so shopping at her site feels inclusive and welcoming — and give you a more realistic sense of what you might look like in that cute suit when it arrives at your door. You can grab a pair of swimsuit separates for a little over $100 here.

Swimwear that honors women's bodies: Miraclesuit swimwear

Miraclesuit swimwear

If you want great support and slimming details, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Miraclesuit swimwear, which keeps growing their incredible selection of swimsuits for all kinds of women — you can even filter by “fit solution” like elongating legs, minimizing backside, accentuating bust, supporting a fuller bust, or adding curves. You’ll pay a little more for their suits (this flattering Sanabel swimsuit is $170), but they are so well made, last forever, and make you feel like a million bucks. Plus you can find a great selection of plus-size swimsuits and specific options for DD and DDD bras.

Swimwear that honors women's bodies: Magic suit plus-size swimwear

Magicsuit plus-size swimwear

I’m obsessed with the elegant drape of this classic halter top from Magic suit but there’s so much more to love on this site that specializes in plus-size swimsear up to size 24W.  I also adore this very Bond girl one-piece. So many great choices — and all currently on sale for 25% off, FTW!  Now go get in the pool, mamas! The cool water is calling.
