I am an unapologetic Mo Willems groupie, in part because I don’t think the author/illustrator has ever had a miss. Now, the .500 streak continues with his newest in the popular Pigeon Series, The Pigeon Needs a Bath. All just in time for our favorite wry, difficult, endearingly persistent urban bird’s tenth anniversary.
He’s up to his same shenanigans, devising tons of reasons why a bath would be a very bad idea, as you can imagine. (I took one last month! All these flies buzzing around me are purely coincidental!) Some of them may even sound familiar to parents. Which is in part why this book will be such a hit. It’s the kind of story kids will love, and yet parents can actually use it to get our kids into the bath once in a while. Hopefully more than once a month. And before the flies start giving bathing orders themselves.
Find the brand new The Pigeon Needs a Bath by Mo Willems on preorder at our affiliate Amazon or at Indiebound, shipping April 1. Or look for it in your local indie bookstore. And if you have Pigeon fans, check out Don’t Let the Pigeon Run This App! which is an all-time favorite on our iPads.
Psst..you can also download this free Pigeon book of activity pages (PDF) filled with 16 pages of printables, coloring pages, activity sheets and party ideas in honor of Pigeon’s 10th birthday.
