New moms now have more baby blankets to choose from than babies have reason to cry.  But the cool, mom-owned label, Lulujo that’s new to the US from Canada, has really caught my eye with gorgeous, affordable muslin baby blankets and other gift-worthy swaddling options. My favorites: a bold, double-layer muslin swaddler that I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to live without when new baby arrives, and a luxurious turkish towel I can use for almost anything.

I know, I really shouldn’t be this excited about baby blankets. But I am.

Like the original swaddlers from favorite aden + anais , Lulujo makes theirs with either cotton or bamboo muslin. (Note that bamboo fabrics now essentially mean a rayon fiber derived from bamboo.) My favorite is their reversible cotton muslin blanket. The double-thickness is a nice, heavier weight, but it’s still breathable against baby’s skin. The four colors are just lovely, and reverse from a gingham to stripes which is a nice touch.

They do feel nicer and more expensive than some other baby blankets I’ve tried but remarkably, each one is only $19. Which makes it fantastic for an affordable baby gift–or hey, get two.

There are some other products in the shop that stand out to me, like smaller baby blankets edged in satin that function as lovies, plus larger swaddlers and some really gorgeous, versatile cotton turkish towels. But as far as original prints and colors that don’t look like others out there, make a really great gift at a great price, my vote is with the reversible muslin blanket. And hopefully, with a baby who sleeps just a wee bit more.
