While I may still be desperately combing the summer sales racks for swimsuits that fit my girls, I’ve also got an eye toward fall fashion, and I am so happy that CMP beloved maker, fashionABLE, has extended their line of wearable scarves into more fall-weight materials and added some cool new accessories, too. And not only do they help you look fantastic, you’ll feel fantastic knowing the women you’ve helped with your purchase.
Here are some of my own favorites from the new collection.

The checked Assefa scarf comes in two beautifully muted palettes, while the checks in the Mosges scarf feels like Burberry with a twist. If you like solids, be sure to also check out the Niguse textured scarf in really pretty shades of super soft medium-weight cotton.
I’m also in love with the brass ABLE cuff which is stamped with the simple word — a reminder I think we could all use one in a while.
What’s particularly special is that it was created in partnership with both women in Africa and those right here in the US at Miriam Designs, who have survived addiction and are forging new futures. Though I will say I would looooove to see it in sterling or gold at some point.
The one product not named for anyone in particular is the gorgeous new suede Hibret Zippered pouch in a bold pink or classic navy. Hibret is the Amharic word for collaboration, which is fitting since it was designed in collaboration with Minka Kelly.
Also, I bet it will look as good on you as it will on Minka Kelly, who’s modeling it on the site.
That’s the awesome thing about accessories, right?
Update: This bag is no longer available, but you can find the similarly sized Pebbled Emnet Pouch in leather, in lots of great colors.
I really adore that each item you purchase comes with a handwritten tag from the maker describing what she herself is able to do thanks to this job — supporting her family, being independent, finding peace in her life, making her children proud.
It will remind you just how much good your purchase is doing. In fact, I have a whole stack of them (yes, I’ve bought a lot from fashionABLE) all collected in a special spot in my bedroom. Every so often I flip through them, read their lovely words, and think of just how many ways women can support one another, even halfway across the globe.
We’re als so excited to see the launch of the brand new Abera Crossbody Tote today! If it’s anything like the Mamuye tote (which I’m sure it is) it will be an amazing addition to your wardrobe, and a well-loved staple. The two-tone look of those cognac straps is gorgeous, and I really dig the addition of a longer strap so you can wear it crossbody when you overstuff it, like I always do.
